Hi Ho Hum.. So I went to the USA for my summer vacation (LaLa Land picts).. now back in Tokyo plotting my escape (again).. so then ... A bit short on the news front lately, I know... And not likely to get any better soon. In fact, consider this the official seasonal warning there will be at least a 3-week writing slump to be followed by a lengthy catch-up..
Koenji Awa Odori - 28th August 2005
..my fourth (or fifith?!) move since coming to Tokyo finds me living in Koenji - the Left Bank equivalent of Paris (apparently) and how better to celebrate than joining 200,000 new friends for a three hour long parade through the back streets of this curious little town(?) featuring competing teams dancing a traditional folk dance from Tokushima.. singing a sweet song that went a little something like this..
you`re a fool whether you dance or not so
you may as well dance...
so dance we did!
